Women's day

March 8th is celebrated as Women’s day throughout the world!
Women have come a long way to have kept aside a day for herself on the calendar.

We had a few celebrations at our office. Singing competition, fashion show and the winner would be titled too!

Women’s day was celebrated everywhere…
On the radio, television, office, anywhere you turn around, you could find the celebrations!

Women’s day has become eventful.
I guess the celebrations this year has been more than any other year before!

To add on to all this, the women’s bill (33% quota for women) has been passed in the Rajya Sabha...
What more a reason do we need to celebrate women’s day!

It’s not just for the ones who are going to be a part of parliament; it’s for all women who have gone through various phases in life and challenges!
I wish every woman in this world, a happy women’s day and may all be blessed with all success and happiness by thy almighty!

Weekend trip!

Finally, the plan worked and the entire family confirmed the decision of this trip to Karuveli (A small village/town near Kumbakonam). We had arranged for a van and a car to accommodate the strength of 20. Though the trip started off late due to the delay in the arrival of the vehicles, as it progressed we caught up with our spirits and had a wonderful time!

Not sure when was the last time I went out with such huge crowd but it was terrific and the crowd strength made it even better!

We left Chennai on Friday (26th Feb), picked up all our folks and started our voyage. Exchanging hugs and hi s as we started off and it was so refreshing to meet them all.

We reached Karuveli at 3 in the mid-night and got our luggage in the rooms allotted to us. Had a good sleep that night after the tiring journey!

The next day morning, we were set to visit the temple which was the purpose of the trip. It was such a beautiful place with all green and freshness around!

All women of that crowd took their afternoon break once the Darshan was over and we had our talks over coffee. We forgot about all our personal worries and meeting our dear ones after such a long time and spending some valuable time with them was so relishing.

To add icing on the cake, the next day we went to a few other small temples on our way back home and it was such a nice time. We watched some movies during the trip!

On the whole, it was a refreshing trip keeping behind our mundane life and meeting our never met cousins!

Wishing for a few more trips of this kind in the near future!
